Svea Adventures invites you to take part in a true Scandinavian Experience! We offer horseback riding vacations to the unexplored and wide open spaces of Scandinavia. Iceland horseback riding vacations range from 4-day rides in comfort with hotel accommodations to 8-day wilderness trips across the interior glacial highlands. The horses are Icelandic and the gait of choice is "Tölt" - the smooth running-walk that the Icelandics are especially famous for. Some of the longer rides offers the opportunity to ride with a loose herd of horses and to ride several different horses throughout the trip.

We are committed to sustainable and ecological means of travel, and we do everything we can to support the local economy, environment and people. We believe that small group and low impact travel is the best way to experience the beautiful places we want to share with you through our trips.

Thórsmörk Horseback Adventure - 6 days / 5 nights - $995/person: A wonderful adventure on Iceland in the beautiful Thórsmörk National Park with colorful contrasts, mystical mountains and magnificent glaciers.

Snaefellsnes Horseback Adventure - 8 days / 7 nights - $1790/person: This horseback adventure takes place on western Iceland's Snaefellsnes Peninsula, where the mountains and glaciers meet the ocean. Ride along sandy beaches, past free-flowing rivers and majestic mountains.

Icelandic Wilderness Horseback Adventure - 8 days / 7 nights - $1700/person: A true wilderness experience and an unforgettable journey across the Land of Fire and Ice, Iceland.

Around the Volcano Horseback Adventure - 4 days / 3 nights - $950/person: A great combination of adventure and comfort! Explore Iceland on the back of an Icelandic horse, while relaxing at a comfortable eco hotel at night.

Accommodations

Accommodations are chosen based on character, location and local ownership. They range from simple hotels and quaint inns with shared bathrooms, to simple huts and cabins in the mountains.

Food

Meals are based on local ingredients and traditions. Your guides cook up delicious breakfasts and dinners at each night's accommodations, and lunches are enjoyed picnic-style on the trail.
