Your hosts, speaking fluent English, will explain all what you want to know about Mexico's past and present the same as the "Mexican way of life". The hosts proudly own the company and personally take care of all the daily details during this unforgettable one-week riding holiday.

Enjoy winter as if it were summer. Discover a perfect mixture of Mediterranean weather with Alpine landscapes. Make your dream come true with a perfect riding holiday in the colonial town of Valle de Bravo, located by the side of a blue lake surrounded with evergreen forests and with an amazing variety of flowers.

Discover an unknown face of Mexico and learn about old Mexican countryside traditions while riding incredibly fit and well trained horses using well-kept first-class tack. Let the grooms and wranglers clean and saddle the horses while you have a restoring "siesta" in one of the hammocks that hang from the columns under the shade of the verandas. The route goes by ancient horse trails that run through woods, lakes, rivers, meadows, and villages offering breathtaking views. While passing through great variety of microclimates (from 5,500 Ft. up to 12,000 Ft. over sea level) riders get to see different plants, trees, animals, and birds that are endemic of Mexico's Sierra Madre Occidental. The ride begins at Finca Enyhe and ends at the same place one week later. Each day after riding five or six hours, the horses overnight in a different stable-station while the riders come back by car to town. The building reflects the Mexican colonial architecture, and the individual bedrooms with its private bathrooms are all decorated with typical furniture from different parts of Mexico. The six bedrooms are distributed in different areas of the house. Two of the bedrooms are facing the central patio, two more have the view of the gardens, and the last two have the swimming pool vista.

Food

A great variety of flavors from the Mexican kitchen are offered to the guests with hygienic procedures. The delicious homemade Mexican food gives the guests the opportunity to taste different dishes every day. Lunch is a picnic on the trail served with typical Mexican "botanas", "tortas", and "tacos" that are warmed over a fire. Lunch is refreshed with fresh water, cold beers and sodas that are carried by a charismatic pack mule that also brings whatever might be needed by the riders. Excellent red and white wines are offered during dinner and three alcoholic beverages per day per rider are included in the rate.

Special care for vegetarians and other special diet considerations are available upon anticipated request

A special program is offered for riders that would like to take some Mexican cooking lessons and have less riding hours per day.

Area Attractions

During the ride the Monarch Butterfly Sanctuary is visited. Every year the Monarch Butterflies return to the same high mountains located in the states of Mexico and Michoacan. These mountains are part of the Transverse Neovolcanic Chain that runs from the Eastern Sierra Madre until it joins the Western Sierra Madre. As its name says, many volcanoes are located in this area, and several of them are still alive. From the 9,000 and up to the 12,000 feet over sea level these mountains are covered with dense fir tree forests. The Monarch Butterflies come to these fir tree forests looking for shelter against the wind, the rain and the cold.
