SisterCreek Ranch (SCR), located in the Heart of the Texas Hill Country, is a beautiful 700 acre equine paradise. The ranch caters to horse lovers who would like to take their favorite steed with them for a special getaway. Visitors can also form small groups for guided trail rides. The crew at SCR prides themselves on attention to detail and their willingness to make guests feel at home, while allowing them privacy and free reign over the entire ranch. Guests are encouraged to make use of the full size arena, lighted covered round pen, and hot and cold wash racks. These enmities are first class and add a great deal to the over all enjoyment of your stay.

SCR has a little western town nestled along the creek, which includes an authentic Texas saloon called Sniffy’s. Sniffy’s is the gathering spot for the ranch and it has it all; karaoke, a pool table, shuffleboard, darts and cold beverages. In the little town you’ll also find the guesthouses, deemed elegantly rustic by those who have enjoyed them. The front porches overlook the horse paddocks and the porch swings are a perfect place for your morning coffee. The screened-in back porches overlook the creek and provide a cool spot for late afternoon gatherings or a quiet massage from one of our therapists. There is even a hot tub by the creek.

If you prefer to rough it just a bit, SCR has RV sites located beside West Sister Creek with rocked-in fire pits (wood provided), picnic tables and covered pens for your horses.

Guests are encouraged to see as much of the ranch as they can. Trail maps are provided, and the trails are absolutely beautiful. SCR is excellent for endurance training or just meandering along the hilltops. There is abundant wildlife and a great spot on top of the mountains for lunch with spectacular views from every vista.

For non-riders, there is catch and release fishing, hiking, or tubing in the cool creek. Sniffy’s is open all day for a game of pool or to catch a sports event on TV.

As an added plus, SisterCreek Ranch breeds Tennessee Walking Horses and guests can schedule lessons to experience their first gaited ride. This is one of SCR's biggest attractions.

SCR is surrounded by lots of things to see and do. Luckenbach, Texas, made famous by a Waylon Jennings and Willie Nelson song is only nine miles away. Local pickers play daily and the atmosphere warms everyone’s hearts. There are many wonderful charming wineries nearby. The quaint town of Fredericksburg is twenty minutes north and San Antonio, home of the San Antonio River Walk, and, of course, the Alamo is an easy one hour drive south.

SisterCreek Ranch was created by owners Bruce and Beth Johnson to be a haven for others who own and love their horses, but would like a wonderful place to go and ride. SCR has 18 miles of magnificent trails. While we cater to the horse owner, arrangements can be made to provide mounts for those visitors who do not own a horse at an additional fee.

Private guesthouses each sleep 6 in rustic elegance. All with screened in porches, working fireplaces, 2 full baths. Rockers and front porch swing included. RV sites include electricity and water hook-ups with rocked in fire pits, picnic tables, covered horse pens and a view of SisterCreek.

Food

Hearty, home-cooked meals are provided for our guesthouse visitors at no additional cost. RV guests can purchase meals for an additional cost with advance notice to the chef, since everything is cooked fresh. Vegetarian meals can be provided.
