Exploring on horseback, viewers gain a greater sense of each location's diverse natural surroundings, wildlife, culture, and history. Equitrekking's History
Equitrekking's first season debuted over the summer on Public Television, receiving outstanding ratings and response. The new season includes more exotic and international locales, shot in stunning high definition.
Season two's film shoots attracted attention around the world. Darley was interviewed in media from Ireland to Hawaii, including the Hawaii Tribune-Herald, where writer John Burnett said, "Her presence on the Big Island didn't attract the kind of attention that surrounded the local shoot for the fourth installment of the Indiana Jones adventures. But Darley Newman experienced some real life adventures that would make Harrison Ford's July stay here seem tame by comparison."
Equitrekking’s first season episodes take viewers through Spain, the Georgia Coast, Vermont, the Carolinas, Wyoming and Colorado. Equitrekking’s second season debuts in January with seven high definition episodes from Iceland, Hawaii's Big Island, Virginia Hunt Country, Coastal Ireland, the Irish Countryside, Maui and California Wine Country.
The popular companion website, equitrekking.com, has been online since 2004 and includes a monthly e-newsletter, online channel, travel tips, the travel guide, articles and photos. Equitrekking.com has been featured in the Chicago Tribune and Business Week online, among others. With monthly newsletters and Darley's articles, speaking and outreach efforts, we continue to get news about Equitrekking out to a large number of Equitrekking fans.
In the fall of 2008, Equitrekking will release a companion coffee table book highlighting the stunning horses and destinations featured in the series, published by Chronicle Books. The crew is currently working on the book, as well as lining up film shoots for this winter for season three.
