The Dunne family have many years of equine experience and have enjoyed many successes both nationally and internationally in the showjumping ring. They also produce young horses and ponies for competition and sales.
Amanda Dunne is a BHS qualified instructor, Horse Sport Ireland Level 2 Competition Coach and a Showjumping Ireland approved coach.
There is a large equine population at Oakwood Stables ranging from beginner ponies to learn the basics to top class show jumping ponies and horses that are ideal mounts for advanced ‘Special Stages’ riders.

Fully residential “Oakwood Lodge” was built in 2012 and comprises of four bedrooms with ensuite shower, kitchen/dining room, recreation room and utility room. Oakwood Lodge can comfortably accommodate up to 14 students. Homemade meals are provided daily.
Oakwood Stables is family orientated and understands that not everybody shares their passion for all things equine and if there is a member of your group who would like to partake in non-equestrian activities, the owners are happy to individually tailor an alternative itinerary which could include: hillwalking, golfing, fishing, kayaking…Just tell Amanda and she is happy to oblige.
Horse Related Activities
Depending on the time of year Oakwood Stables organizes excursions to National and International horse shows i.e Dublin International Horse Show (August). Kids may also gain valuable experience participating in horse shows both locally and nationally in Ireland.
