Venture deep into the heart of the Alberta Rocky Mountains with Warner Guiding & Outfitting. They’ve been guiding through remote trails in Canada’s first National Park for 50 years. Backcountry escapes take you and fellow adventurers to alpine lakes, mountain passes, glacier fed rivers, and secluded lodges or tent camps. Leave behind deadlines and schedules and trade them for fresh mountain air, a good horse, and a trail that leads you to one spectacular view after another. We'll take you to the perfect spots for once in a lifetime photos, mountain stream fishing and viewing wildlife in its natural habitat.
Trips of 2 to 6 days in length are available with accommodation in Backcountry Lodges or Wilderness Tent Camps. Each trip features 5-8 hours of riding time each day and leisurely lunches on the trail. At the end of the day, ride into camp to the smell of mouth-watering dinners and scrumptious desserts. Evenings are spent around the campfire or woodstove with countless tales, short and tall, being told.
If you’re visiting Banff National Park and are looking for a day adventure, they offer Trail Rides from 1 to 7 hours in length, and Wilderness Cookouts with a covered wagon option. They also offer carriage tours through downtown Banff.

During the winter months, hop on a sleigh for a scenic ride through the meadows of Banff. Strap on the cross-country skis or snowshoes and journey to a remote backcountry lodge for an overnight stay including all meals.
Accommodations
On Wilderness Tent Trips- There are spacious A-frame canvas tents with a raised platforms for sleeping. Each tent sleeps two comfortably. There is a large kitchen tent where all meals are prepared. And many social evenings are spent. Clean outhouses and wash basins are at each camp. Flint’s Park Camp, reached on 4, 5 and 6 day trips, also has a shower! No need to worry about midnight visitors at these camps- a 10,000 volt wildlife fence surrounds the camp and corrals. The maximum on there trips is 20 guests.
On Backcountry Lodge Trips, 4, 5 and 6 day options- These trips spend nights at Sundance and Halfway Lodges. Sundance Lodge adds a touch of luxury to the pristine wilderness with indoor washrooms, a large country kitchen and a spacious living room. Bedrooms feature a double bed and a bunk bed and all bedding is provided. Halfway Lodge is a true backcountry hut with a cozy interior, single beds, and outhouses. Halfway features a private, one-with-nature shower. The maximum on these trips is 14 guests.
Two and three day trips only visit Sundance Lodge and can accommodate up to 30 guests.
Food
Backcountry gluttony! All meals are included and are sure to fuel you for the day’s adventures in the fresh mountain air. Suppers are ranch style including soup, salad, meat, potato, two veggies, bread and camp-cooked dessert! No one goes hungry on our trips! Breakfast and Supper are served at camp, and lunches are served on the trail. We can accommodate most dietary restrictions and allergies including gluten. Please let us know at time of booking.
Area Attractions
We ride into the backcountry of the Canadian Rocky Mountains, this allows our guests to get away from the hustle and bustle of Banff. After the trip though, Banff is a great town to spend some time in with tons of restaurants, galleries, theatre, nightlife, rafting, sightseeing, biking, hiking, etc.
The Calgary Stampede is celebrating their centennial anniversary in 2012 from July 6-15th.
