Each day's ride lets you experience riding through wetlands, along virgin beaches, through the hills, to just hours later feeling as if your are in the middle of the desert surrounded by sand dunes that lead you to a sea lions reserve just next to the wild ocean. The guides have been very carefully selected.
View wildlife, including a variety of birds in the various habitats. Hummingbirds, flamingos, kingfishers, flycatchers, and rheas (similar to ostriches) may be seen on these Uruguay holidays. The riding pace will be quite fast at times as you navigate the grassy pastures and firm beaches, on strong and well-trained criollo and criollo cross horses, so you need to be an intermediate to advanced equestrian. After a full day riding, it is comforting to know that you can return to fully prepared meals that reflect the local cuisine. All meals are prepared with completely natural and fresh products of the region. Red meat, fish and wine are local and recommended, but vegetarians can be easily catered to.
During the months of September through December, guests are sometimes able to see whales off the coast. During February, there are two carnival parades and it is also the height of the shrimp season. Guests are invited to participate in the shrimp fishing experience. Other activities include surfing, biking, trekking, canoeing, and bird watching.
