The Heart Six Dude Ranch offers scenic horseback riding, pack trips, and focuses on mountain trail riding into the Teton National Forest and the Teton Wilderness Area of Wyoming. Nestled in the Buffalo Valley, a trip to Heart Six will let you enjoy scenes of majestic mountain peaks, Aspen trees, and the meandering Buffalo River. Over 100 mountain horses and mules are available for guests who have come from all over the world to enjoy the charm and western hospitality the ranch has to offer.
The trips give guests the opportunity to ride the high country with experienced guides and view some of the most beautiful country in the world. Come see for yourself why this has also been the setting for movies such as Mountain Men, Jeremiah Johnson and Shane.
The season runs approximately from June 1st until September 15th, with a variety of programs offered from wilderness pack & fishing trips, to the Teton wilderness adventures ride, children’s’ programs, and big game hunting.
The Heart Six Dude Ranch also welcomes singles, couples, family reunions, and weddings. Children's programs and activities are available. Youth counselors treat the kids to a week of swimming, fishing, games, arts and crafts, campfire songs, and just plain fun. Various evening entertainment is offered for the whole family. You'll spend a lot of time in the saddle, so it is recommended that you come with some previous riding experience. The gentle mountain horses will take you on an adventure you will never forget.
New this Summer! Experience week long horsemanship programs where you will be grouped with your appropriate level to maximize your ability to enhance your riding skills. Adults nd children will be grouped separately. Family rides are available later in the week.
Teton Wilderness Adventures
Ride the high country with experienced cowboys as you view and photograph lush meadows, pristine lakes and streams, and abundant wildlife in its natural habitat. Fish for trout and enjoy cowboy cuisine cooked on an open fire and enjoy the experience of a lifetime in the Teton Wilderness. Trips vary in length from three to ten days, and may be incorporated with a stay at the guest ranch. Families and groups are welcome, and the pack trips can be custom-designed to fit your needs. Guest package stays are available from June through August and off-season rates for lodging are available after Labor Day.
High Country Fishing
The “pack-in fishing trip” is designed for anglers who wish to enjoy remote mountain lakes and streams. Trips can be customized to fit the needs of your group or family. A 5-day trip recommended, allowing guests to fish different areas and different waters.
Big Game Hunting
The Heart Six Guest Ranch hunting program is designed to offer a variety of hunts for a number of species. Hunting is conducted by fair chase only, as outlined by the Wyoming Game and Fish Department. Heart Six adheres to the rules and policies of Game and Fish, Grand Teton National Park, U.S. Forest Service, and the Wyoming Outfitters Board. Heart Six’s goal is for a safe, enjoyable, productive hunt, that you remember for years to come.
Children's Activities
Supervised children’s activities are also available for children 3 years old and up during the day to keep the youngsters busy. Activities include: Lead Around Horse Back Riding (3-5 years old); Art & Crafts; Horseshoes; Marshmallow Roasts; Junior Wrangler Instruction; Horse Grooming Instruction; Roping Lessons; Nature Hikes; Basketball; Volleyball; Movies. Children under 3 are the responsibility of parents.
Other Activities
Relax at the end of your day with Heart Six Guest Ranch's nightly camp fires. Live entertainment is provided twice a week. Line dancing and two step are a must!
Heart Six accommodations are modern log cabins that range from individual quad-plex units that can house families and groups. Enjoy the breath-taking view from the deck area as the sun sets behind the Tetons. Watch the stars come out at night from the outdoor hot tub. Parents and children alike enjoy the great food, comfortable accommodations and Western atmosphere and activities.
Genuine cowboy cuisine is as good as it gets - prepared the old-fashioned way on an open fire. A hearty, ranch-style menu that includes outdoor steak fries and Dutch oven cooking.
Trail rides take place in the Bridger-Teton National Forest and Teton Wilderness areas, which offer spectacular views, and numerous opportunities for photography and wildlife viewing. Guests enjoy a trip to the Jackson Hole Rodeo, a scenic float down the Snake River, and an interpretive guided tour of Yellowstone National Park. Mountain bikes are available for guests. Try your skill at fly fishing on the Buffalo Fork River, located just across the meadow. Hiking on the numerous trails that surround the ranch is also a favorite pastime. In additional to the regular ranch activities, guests also enjoy the option of arranging a guided fly fishing trip, 10 mile (class 1 water) scenic float trip, or wilderness pack trip during their stay.
