Beneath the year-round fantastic Central New York sky, B & B Ranch welcomes guests from all over the Eastern US and Canada (and some from even further) to the farm country outside Cooperstown, New York. The drive here is always part of the allure.
Fly Creek is an exclusive hamlet that caters to travelers visiting Cooperstown for the National Baseball Hall of Fame and the world renowned Glimmerglass Opera House, among other attractions. B & B Ranch has emerged as an attraction in its own right. With the addition of Barn Manager and Trainer Ray Whelihan, the ranch has hosted an ongoing slate of equestrian clinics, workshops and horse riding events.
Ray Whelihan teaches Hunter Seat Equitation in the Forward Riding System and is also available for instruction in Stock Seat Equitation and Horsemanship. Ray is a tenured Associate Professor at the State University of New York at Cobleskill with the primary responsibility of coaching the college's Varsity Hunt Seat Intercollegiate Team. He teaches course work in Equine Reproduction, Equine Business Management, Equine Training, and Therapeutic Riding.
Overnights guests are welcomed to five ultra-comfortable and fully furnished suites for a New York horseback riding vacation. The kitchen serves only the finest in Italian country cuisine, fine Piedmontese beef raised on the farm, and an endless variety of fresh, local and hard-to-find foods, including artisan cheeses from a herd of Spanish goats who also call the ranch home. Common areas are better than comfortable, and include a full spa, indoor swimming pool and an observation deck for the horse training areas.
Equestrians may board horses, and are welcome to train in the indoor and outdoor paddocks, a lighted arena and they have access to private lockers rooms, a heated tack room and eight miles of seeded trails for trail riding and hacks. The trails lead into some of Central New York's most inviting private land, with forests, pastures and plenty of space to explore.
