While many ranches offer celebratory barbeques, parades and rodeos, horseback rides, hay rides and cattle drives are also on ranch agendas for the 4th.

The 4th of July has always been a favorite holiday at Rankin Ranch, located 2.5 hours from Los Angeles, with many families making this an annual tradition.On the 4th of July guests wake up to red, white, and blue galore. The morning is spend on horseback, and after lunch it’s time for the family style Olympic Games with the Red, White, and Blue teams. The day ends with an All-American BBQ and historic pageant starring ranch children.

Past celebrations have included an old fashioned tug o' war, decorating the ranch and the horses by painting the white horses red and blue, water balloons, a parade down the driveway and a grand firework display to finish the day.
